About this object

At the top and bottom is an undecorated band with turning at the lip. The rest of the sides are covered with an elaborate decoration of strong rococo scrolls and leaves and flowers, some plain, others stippled, in unusually high relief and of extra quality. Two cartouches are decorated, one with an eagle with wings raised, the other with an eagle resting on a cluster of flowers. Originally gilded, now only traces of gilding are visible on the interior and top band.
