About this object

Except for narrow plain bands at the top and bottom, almost the entire sides are covered with a design in repoussé. There is an all over design of rococo scrolls, plain and stippled, flowers and two birds, one with its wings raised, the other sitting on and pecking at a cluster of flowers. Bottom also shows area where scratches have been filed off.
