About this object

Around the tumbler are three elaborate rococo cartouches of scrolls and leaves, each with a portrait bust and each surmounted by the Imperial crown, all in repoussé. One is of Peter the Great (1682-1725), another of Empress Elizabeth I (Elizaveta Petrovna, r. 1741-1761), and a third is of Empress Anna (1730-1740). The cover is also decorated in repoussé with rococo motifs and three Imperial crowns. The knop for the cover is the double headed Imperial eagle.
