About this object

The long, deep bowl has a medallion in the bottom with a half-length figure of an emperor dressed in his robes, wearing the Monomachi cap and holding the scepter. The medallion is encircled with leaves. At either side is a branch with leaves and a flower on the inner sides and two medallion with th double headed eagle and one with globe and scepter. Between these are branches with leaves and roses. The entire background is stippled.
