About this object

A deep, cross-shaped panagia surmounted by a Maltese cross. The front has a relief of Christ on the cross, inscribed [no information on record] and three medallions: above, God the Father blessing, at the left, the bust of the Mother of God and at the right, the bust of St. John the Beloved. The sides and back of the panagia are not decorated. On the sides are two silver loops for a strap for suspending the panagia. On the right side is a hinge and on the left a pin for closing the front which serves as a cover. Inside are two compartments. At the back is a modern, stamped maker's mark.
