About this object

The frame contains a miniature of the young Tsarevich dressed in the uniform of Imperial Infantry Regiment to which all male members of the Romanov family belonged. He is wearing the chain, badge, ribbon and the star of the Order of St. Andrew First Called and the star of the order of St. Andrew. The frame is in ivory with a yellow gold bowknot at bottom from which rise from each side sprays of roses in red, yellow, white and black gold. At the top is the imperial crown set in gold with tiny diamonds and cabochon rubies.
