About this object

A tortoiseshell crochet hook with a gold finial. The finial is decorated with white vertical stripes and laurel leaf garland executed in the champlevé enamel technique. Similar garland encircles a small faceted amethyst on the top. Two bands of small rose-cut diamonds set in silver are around the top and bottom of the finial.
