About this object

Around opening for picture is gold beading and around this, a band of gold engraved in a sunburst pattern under a delicate grey blue translucent enamel. To this are appliqued two sprays of leaves, berries and acorns carved in red gold. On right are laurel leaves and on the left oak leaves. These are joined at bottom by a bowknot carved in red gold. Outer edge of frame is carved with two intertwined ribbons in green gold against red gold. The frame holds a miniature portrait of Dina Merrill (Nedenia Marjorie Hutton).
