About this object

The shape of the box is bombe, flat at the back and bulging forward. The center of the cover is enamelled in a translucent blue against a moire guilloche ground. Mounted upon this is a bouquet of roses with a ribbon framed in diamonds set in silver. Flanking this are two larger diamonds within a border of forty five diamonds. The edge of the cover is repousse with floral scrolls on stippled ground. The thumbpiece is set with a blue cabochon and tiny diamonds. The sides of the box are repousse and chased with further foliate motifs. The base is engraved with a central bouquet of flowers within scrolling floral designs.
