About this object

An allover design of bunches of grapes with leaves, vines, and tendrils in cobalt blue champlevé enamel covers the entire surface area around the portrait. The miniature of Alexander II is bust sized. He is represented in the uniform of a general with the light blue sash of the Order of St. Andrew and number of Russian orders on the medal bar. Miniature is set in a circle of thirty large rose-cut diamonds in a high setting. Thumbpiece is set with five rose-cut diamonds.
