About this object

An overall repoussé and chased foliate scroll design on a stippled ground decorates the cup of this chalice. A row of diamonds betwen two rows of rubies separates this ornament from the plain lip. On the front of the bowl is a cross of rubies and diamonds bordered with a row of diamonds and a row of rubies; this is surmounted by a crown in diamonds. The same scroll ornament decorates the base, and a laurel garland winds around the stem. Around the edge of the base is an inscription in Cyrillic.
