About this object

Box is decorated with very fine turning and borders of vine scrolls engraved in gold. In center of lid is an enamelled link from a chain of St. Andrew with two P's. Above cipher is the imperial crown in gold enamelled red and white. On either side are flags and military trophies. Flags have alternate red and green stripes. A link has been fastened to a later English box. Box has similar decoration and same size as 11.32.
