On view in: Marjorie Post's Bedroom

About this object

The round seal is made in bloodstone on one side, while the other side is in carnelian. It has a cut intaglio with a crest of a stag's head. The seal hangs from within two wing-like motifs made in gold. Above this are two chased gold motifs possibly added when it was made into a pin. They look like thimbles turned on their sides. They are attached to a ring which lies in the center of the gold work.
