About this object

The small square almanac has front and back covers which are formed from a piece of bloodstone with beveled edges. Some plaited hair is set on the front cover under glass with a circle of gold holding it in place. The borders of the bloodstone and the spine of the book are made in gold, with the spine being engraved with rosettes in rectangles. On the interior, is a small calendar for the year 1804, a coat of arms, and information such as a list of the English kings from the Conquest, a list of Lord Mayors of London from 1783-1804, and the weight of English coins.
