About this object

The cartouche shaped box is composed of six pieces of bloodstone with ribbed gold bands holding the pieces together. The cover is framed with rococo scrolls, shells and swags of roses. At the center stands a tower-like structure which is surmounted by a shell and trophies, and has two doves at the bottom. All four sides are mounted with similar chased scrolls and swags of roses.
