About this object

The body of the small rectangular box is plain. The ivory cover is carved in imitation of a basket weave frame. Across the center of this cover a gold band which is inscribed. Around the edge is a band of gold and outside this is a band of ivory decorated with small dots. There is a small gold thumbpiece. The interior is lined with velvet in the lower half and set with a mirror in the cover.
