Plan Your Visit

Welcome to the home of Marjorie Merriweather Post, a legendary hostess, pioneering businesswoman, diplomat, philanthropist, and distinguished collector.

Whether you’re a first-time visitor or long-time member, there’s always something new to discover at Hillwood. Most guests spend close to three hours enjoying all that Hillwood has to offer. You may plan on touring the mansion, exploring the gardens, seeing a special exhibition, having tea or lunch in the café, and completing your experience with a stop in the museum shop. Read on and use the links on the left to learn more about the many ways to experience Hillwood.

Orientation Film

Start your visit with a welcome from executive director Kate Markert by way of the orientation film, which provides an introduction to Hillwood and Marjorie Post. It is a great way to start your day at Hillwood, especially if it's your first visit. The film is currently being shown in the staff dining room in the mansion, while construction is ongoing around the visitor center theater.
