Welcome to the home of Marjorie Merriweather Post, a legendary hostess, pioneering businesswoman, diplomat, philanthropist, and distinguished collector.

Book Your Visit

Start your visit with a  welcome from executive director Kate Markert by way of the Orientation Film, which plays every half-hour in the Visitor Center and is a great way to start your day at Hillwood, especially if it's your first visit.

Whether you prefer to experience Hillwood at your own leisurely pace, with the guiding voice of our popular audio tour, or the structure of a docent-guided tour, a day of beauty and serenity awaits. No matter which one you choose, all of the touring options are included with your suggested donation. Staff and volunteers will be on hand at the Visitor Center when you arrive to help you plan your visit. You may opt to:

Part of Hillwood's mission is to provide visitors with the gracious hospitality afforded to Marjorie Merriweather Post's guests. From the moment you walk, bike, or drive through the gates, we strive to make you feel welcome and at home.

Special benefits await those who come with their garden clubs, church outings, or social groups. Groups of all ages are welcome to spend a special day with us!

Though we share a fondness for animals, as our founder Marjorie Merriweather Post did, for the safety and comfort of all our visitors and the conservation of our grounds, pets are not permitted at Hillwood. We cannot allow entrance to any vehicles with pets inside.

Please note, Hillwood does not permit smoking anywhere on the grounds.
