Location: Greenhouse & Meet in Visitor Center
Part of: Garden Events, Garden, Marjorie Merriweather Post
For more than 60 years, lush floral arrangements have been created from Hillwood’s Cutting Garden. This hands-on class starts with a tour of the Cutting Garden, where our gardeners grow over 50 different types of annual and perennial flowers. You’ll learn how flower crops are harvested and prepared for use, as well as learning which blooms will be included in your own arrangement. Participants will then head into the greenhouse to learn practical floral arranging techniques and new design concepts while creating a stunning arrangement to take home.
All materials are included. Payment is required in advance due to materials fees, and is non-refundable. This program is limited to 10 people, and must have a minimum of 4 participants to take place. In the event that the workshop is cancelled, participants may choose to participate in another session.
Led by Jason Gedeik, Hillwood’s head of design operations.
