This year the exquisite jewelry and luxury objects collected by and designed specially for Marjorie Merriweather Post, style icon and favored Cartier client, add a touch of sparkle to the 13th annual Gay Day.  This year, be dazzled by Cartier: Marjorie Merriweather Post's Dazzling Gems.

Highlights of the day include:

  • Illustrated talks highlighting Marjorie's collection of dresses and apparel on view on in the Bedroom Suite, presented by associate curator of textiles, Howard Vincent Kurtz.

  • Gallery talks in the newly opened Staff Dining Room, presented by curator of American material culture Estella Chung.

  • Demonstrations of magnificent floral design, including blooms from the cutting garden, by head of greenhouse and design operations Jason Gedeik.

  • Special access to rooms and spaces not usually open to the public, including the massage room, the ladies’ powder room, film projection booth, and fallout shelter.

  • Square dance presented by the DC Lambda Squares

  • Musical performances by Not What You Think and the Rock Creek Singers of the Gay Men's Chorus of Washington
