Divas Outdoors: Classic Films Under The Stars featuring
Some Like It Hot, starring Marilyn Monroe, Tony Curtis, Jack Lemmon
with presenting partner Reel Affirmations
Revel in a late summer evening in the gardens and tour the Mansion in its twilight splendor. When the sun goes down, Hillwood sizzles under the stars. Marilyn Monroe, Tony Curtis and Jack Lemmon star in Some Like it Hot, the American Film Institute’s greatest comedy of all time.
Fearing their lives after they witness the St. Valentine’s Day Massacre, musicians Joe (Tony Curtis) and Jerry (Jack Lemmon), join Sue Sweet’s all-girl orchestra and flee Chicago in drag. As Joe becomes Josephine and Jerry becomes Daphne, Marilyn Monroe stars as new bosom buddy and love interest Sugar. Gender-bending shenanigans ensue as “Josephine” and “Daphne” try to woo Sugar, and Daphne becomes the object of flirtatious millionare Osgood Fielding (Joe E. Brown).
This camp classic is sure to inspire laughter and fun across the Lunar Lawn. Help set the scene by coming in character or entering our elaborate picnic competition, and enjoy a classic Hollywood film.
