Coming of Age: Marjorie Merriweather Post
and Fashion at the Turn of the Century

Hillwood's founder, Marjorie Merriweather Post was presented to society in
1903. In recognition of the 100th anniversary of her debut, Hillwood
revisits the fashion sense and sensibilities of America at the turn of the
century. Included in this display are an exquisite beaded gown by the
Parisian haute couture house of Callot Soeuer and a silk visiting dress
and jacket by Au Bon Marche.

in the Gardens Workshop

Floral motifs enliven the decorative arts of both France and Russia.
Join botanical artist Kandy Philips to learn about the techniques and
history of botanical art and try your hand at drawing summer annuals and
roses in the gardens at Hillwood.
