Marjorie Merriweather Post resided at Hillwood in the spring and autumn months, and the gardens feature many bulbs, annuals, perennials, shrubs and trees with showy spring blooms and magnificent fall foliage. A wide variety of evergreens and shade trees were included throughout the gardens to complement these seasonal riots of color and to provide summer and winter interest. The following sections provide a visual guide to some of the

seasonal interests found in the formal gardens and the grounds of the estate all year round.
