About this object
Bust sized portrait of the Empress, she faces three quarters to the left. She is wearing in her brown hair a diadem of diamonds and pearls from the crown jewels. From the back of the diadem hangs a lace veil. Earrings, collar and necklace are of pearls. She is wearing the chain and insignia of the Imperial Order of St. Catherine. Her dress is white satin with passementerie and adorned with a bowknot brooch of diamonds and three large pearl drops.
