About this object
Portrait of a standing man in almost full length, facing forward. He wears a brown curly wig and a red velvet cloak lined with white fur. The cloak is draped over his body, under which can be seen the lace cuffs and neckline of his outfit. His left hand rests on a box on a table to the far right of the painting. His right hand points downward with the forefingers extended, as if pointing. He stands before a chair which can be seen to the left of the painting. The chair is shown with the back and one of the arm rests which ends in a carved design. In the background is a dark blue-green drapery. To the left is a column and part of a ceiling, showing the room he is standing in.
