About this object

A rectangular hinged box. The bottom part of the box is cut from a single piece of bloodstone and is undecorated except for the beveled edges. The cover is a flat piece of bloodstone also with beveled edges. The sides are plain pieces of bloodstone as well. The hinge and edge are made in gold of which the upper part is engraved with rosettes in the background and enameled en plein with a series of sprays of flowers in various colors.
