Our Commitment to the GLBT Community In 2001, we formed an advisory committee comprised of leaders from Washington’s GLBT community, including the Mayor's Office on GLBT Affairs, to welcome members of this community. The committee meets with Hillwood staff on a quarterly basis to advise and support Hillwood’s outreach through public programming, marketing and community partnerships. These efforts have resulted in significant partnerships with One in Ten, Rainbow Families and the Lesbian & Gay Chorus of Washington DC. We also participated in Black Pride, Capital Pride, and Baltimore Pride. Thanks to all of you who visited our booth and registered for our e-newsletter! Events Back By Poplar Demand! Summer Outdoor Film Series Last summer, Hillwood partnered with One in Ten to present an outdoor screening of the classic film Pillow Talk starring Doris Day and Rock Hudson. The event was so overwhelmingly popular that One In Ten will join us again this summer to present three classic films on the fabulous Lunar Lawn.
Gay Day - September 2008 This September Hillwood will hold its seventh annual Gay Day extravaganza. Every year, Hillwood invites the GLBT community to be our guests for a day of special events celebrating the fabulous lifestyle of Marjorie Merriweather Post. Planning of this day-long event is in progress. As our past 2,500 participants can attest, this is one event not to be missed. Details to come.
